Since ALL the internal lights dont work including crucially the glove box light I believe now it can only be a problem inside the CCM or with pin 4 of its 12 way connector which carries the 12V to the internal lights. As I was snapping the lens back in place the light started flickering and eventually went out. The buttons for these lights light up when i turn on the headlights so there is power.
